Diana Konomanyi Is A Rebel?!

Thu, 28/03/2013 - 11:24 -- chiefeditor

All People’s Congress (APC) Party executive members and supporters are of the view that the party cannot forge ahead when the likes o on Diana Konomanyi are allowed to have field days.

However, the fact remains that what Diana Konomanyi did in Kono recently did not go down well with President Koroma. And to say the truth, she actually did what she did to spite |our revered Vice President, Alhaji Chief Samuel Sam Sumana.

Whether Miss. Diana Konomanyi likes it or not, the fact is she alone cannot tote the APC; let alone toting the government of Sierra Leone.

2013 Cabinet Ministers: Round Pegs in Square Holes?!

Thu, 10/01/2013 - 12:15 -- chiefeditor

An overused maxim states: ‘to whom much is given, much is expected.’ Another overused adage is: ‘old tricks die hard.’ This is why many people are of the belief that giving a second chance to Alpha Kanu as a Cabinet Minister in the Ministry of Information after he was abruptly relieved of his duties as Minister of Mines sometime in 2009 is a bad omen. It is argued that Alpha Kanu has still not convincingly explained to the general public why a number of Hajj pilgrims were left stranded and abandoned in Abuja, Nigeria when he was in charge of all Hajj arrangements inc

Open Letter to Cabinet Ministers!!!

Mon, 17/12/2012 - 11:51 -- chiefeditor

Dear Ministers, most of you are highly or at least moderately educated and know the simple meaning of the word DISSECT. Therefore, if we are to dissect the meaning of the above saying; it would be easy to see and understand that all it means is: any player/worker/minister/president/housewife/husband/journalist…etc etc, who performs assigned tasks to the best of his/her ability and agility in a timely, professional, transparent and accountable manner, need not worry his/her head about being rewarded because as another saying goes: No bread for the lazy man!

LET’S TALK Politics is all about promises

Wed, 05/09/2012 - 13:47 -- chiefeditor

True to the promise, many big guns have been found guilty of corruption and exposed. However, some critics seem to suggest that many of those caught in the act are the small fishes.

But opinions differ since some critics suggest it has been selective justice. Some cows are more sacred than others it would seem.

Jonathan Leigh, listen up!

Sun, 03/06/2012 - 20:45 -- chiefeditor

I will not border readers with Jonathan Leigh’s unsubstantiated assertion that I am an unprofessional journalist, because unlike him, I have a very clean and admirable image in this profession.

What I will therefore look at, in this first segment of my responses to Jonathan Leigh, is the lies that Sylvia Blyden had used my name to publish an article I did not author while I was working at the Awareness Times Newspaper.

Salone Cricketers Must Be Recognized!

Mon, 20/05/2013 - 10:33 -- chiefeditor

It is heart-rending to say the least, to hear BBC explain how the SLCA has over the years painstakingly attended and won international competitions, sometimes without getting a cent from the government to help the team with ticket fare and other expenses.

It is sad to hear BBC speak of having done everything in his power to ensure that the SLCA receives assistance of different kinds from international donors and well-wishers. It is no secret that he has over the years with support from his colleagues raised the standard of the SLCA from grass to grace and from obscurity to fame.

Sarah Bendu: Concentrate On Your Job!

Fri, 10/05/2013 - 10:51 -- chiefeditor

To buttress the fact that Dr. Bendu did nothing wrong in her handling the procurement of two tow trucks and other equipment for use by the Authority in its Operation WID activities was the Authority’s Procurement Officer, Victor Labor. He stated that six firms had shown interest and that a special committee was appointed to evaluate the bidding documents and that minutes of the process were sent to the National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) for scrutiny. He added that nothing was amiss and that the NPPA were satisfied that the bidding process was transparent.
