SLPP in ritual murder scandal

The Ariogbo has learnt from very credible sources that the victim was kidnapped around Moyamba Junction and dumped into the green jeep that was heading to an unknown destination.

However, the SLPP Councilor-elect is said to have confessed to the police to have undertaken the kidnap, but insisted that it was not for ritual murder.

The victim, according to the SLPP Councilor, was “kidnapped because he attempted to steal the sum of one thousand leones (Le1,000) from us”.

New media alliance formed in Sierra Leone

The organisation called Media Alliance on Development Issues (MADI) was borne out of the burning desire to see Sierra Leone progress in all spheres - political, religious, social and economical among other aspects of development.

The brand new organisation that would be formally launched by mid January has, as it motto: “Development is a must”.

Opposition MP, 20 others sent to Pademba Road Prison again

The expectations of the SLPP supporters, who had hoped that their MP and other members were going to be freed today on bail was thwarted when the Magistrate stood his ground that the charges brought against the accused persons were very serious.

With the refusal of the magistrate to grant the accused persons bail, Hon. Rado Yoki will spend some further time at the maximum prison until the next adjourned date of 21st October 2011.

The Awareness Times also reported that a Sierra Leonean citizen called Gibrilla Kamara aka GK has pleaded guilty in an American court to conspiring to import cocaine into the United States of America. GK was reportedly arrested in Liberia and extradited to New York to answer to cocaine trafficking and other related charges. GK is believed to have been very active in recruiting South American drug trafficking organizations to establish operations in West Africa over the years.
